Automation Systems Technology Centre (ASTeC) is a state-of-the-art Research and Development Centre in Automation and Related Areas launched by Dept. of Information Technology under Ministry of Communications & Information Technology , Govt. of India in April 2007. This five year programme is implemented through the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing , Thiruvananthapuram. A National Steering Committee comprising of eminent experts from different institutions in India guides the activities of ASTeC.

Premier academic institutions like IISc, IITs, NITs, leading universities, Research laboratories and User/Manufacturing industries of automation systems in the country are the Programme partners of this venture.
